Artist Talk - Sonja Peterson

May 29, 2019

Wednesday, May 29

Reception 6:00-6:30pm

Talk Begins 6:30pm

Join us for a discussion with our current featured artist, Sonja Peterson

Sonja Peterson will discuss past and present work including her current exhibition entitled Broken Chain. She will examine the shifting and shrinking of ecosystems caused by the relationships between man, trade and commerce asking how these ecosystems exist as small disconnected landscapes and if these limited enclaves are enough to sustain biodiversity. Peterson poses the question: how do we reweave the world back together as we find ourselves in a post natural world?

Peterson’s discussion will be followed by a live reading from environmental writer and poet Laurie Allmann, whose book "An Hour from Now" will be released this month.

We will also taste numerous honeys from local pollinators at the event in support of biodiversity.
